About Me

Hello, my name is Erin Cash, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 9 years of experience working with clients to target concerns of depression, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, relationships, grief & loss, pregnancy, prenatal, postnatal, parenting, self- esteem & identity, life limiting illnesses and overall life struggles. I have worked in the Hospice Inpatient setting providing grief counseling, children’s bereavement counseling, and overall grief and loss support. Experience working with End Stage Renal Disease patients requiring dialysis in three separate modalities, providing counseling for individuals dealing with complex medical issues, anticipatory grieving and adjustment concerns. Starting my own private practice to help others in need has always been a life-long dream, and passion. During these trying times and need for constant adjustment to society, I feel there is no better time to offer individualized therapy that focuses on optimizing overall mental health and well-being. I believe wholeheartedly that seeking therapy is the very first step in the healing process and it takes an incredible amount of strength and personal perseverance. Anxiety

Anxiety is a normal human reaction to stressful situations in our lives; however, can manifest into life altering and debilitating concerns. Anxiety disorders can severely impact our day to day functioning at home, work, and in social settings. Anxiety can take on many different forms including, but not limited to excessive worry, fear, ruminating thoughts, feelings of being inadequate, obsessive thinking, heightened stress response in social situations, avoidance, sleep issues, fatigue, irritability, and overall intrusive thoughts that can impact sound decision making. Life can be difficult and stressful at times. Are you tired of others trying to normalize "a new normal?" It's helpful being able to hold space with a therapist in a confidential environment to talk about these day to day struggles. 

Depression

Life Altering Illness

There are many biological, psychological, and social sources that can cause distress and feelings of depression. Symptoms of depression can include feeling sad, loss of interest or pleasure in activities that you may have once enjoyed, loss of energy, trouble sleeping or sleeping too much, loss of energy/fatigue, feelings of guilt, difficulty concentrating, and thoughts of death or suicide. 

Please don't be afraid to ask for help, to share your heartache, to be heard!! There is help! 

Being diagnosed with a life altering illness can come as a shock, and leave you feeling in complete disbelief. Living with a life altering illness such as Cancer, End Stage Renal Disease, Heart Disease to name a few, present many challenges to not only the person with the illness, but also their close family and friends. Adapting to new lifestyle changes, and perhaps ongoing treatments, can be emotionally draining, and cause distress. It is normal to experience a range of emotions in these unforeseen circumstance. As you navigate these emotions, you may find it incredibly helpful to seek counseling support where you can share your fears in a non judgmental environment. 

Grief & Loss

Coping with the loss of a loved one is by far one of the most difficult challenges many of us face. Whether you have experienced a recent death or are going through what is known as anticipatory grief due to a terminal diagnosis, you are on a journey filled with a lot of varying intense emotions. Grief takes on many different forms and is unique to everyone. Grief does not follow a trajectory, nor is there a timeline for your pain. Grief is not always associated with death. We can feel grief from a loss of a job, a breakup, or other personal losses. You may be experiencing complicated grief if you have feelings of intense sadness and ongoing emotional pain, feelings of emptiness and hopelessness, avoidance, isolation and detachment from family and friends, or a lack of desire to engage in things that once brought you joy. It is important to seek help coping with your grief if you are having difficultly eating and sleeping, the inability to work or return to regular activities, inability to care for yourself, feelings of worthlessness, or thoughts of suicide. A counselor can guide you through these feelings without judgment. Remember no loss is to big or small to ask for help. You do not have to suffer in silence. You do not have to grieve alone.
